THE garden eatery – CLOSING 23RD AUGUST 2026
Doneraile, North Cork, Ireland
A Season of Gathering & Good Living
The Garden Eatery closes for the season on 23rd August 2026 ! Thank you for making it such a memorable summer.
How it began
A Pop-Up,
From the Start
Townhouse began, years ago, as a restaurant here in Doneraile, a room where people gathered around good food and good company. In time, that room changed shape and became Townhouse Interiors, our curtain and design shop on Main Street, where the same instinct for gathering found a different form: fabric, colour, the making of a home.
This summer, we returned to the table, briefly, and on purpose.
The Townhouse Garden Eatery was never meant to last. It was always designed as a pop-up, a few months to entertain people, to bring them back together and it will return again next year.
Nestled under a stretched architectural awning beside 500 acres of biodiversity gardens, in the heart of Doneraile village, it became a small but meaningful stop between the Ballyhoura Mountains and the historic grounds of Annes Grove and Doneraile Estate.
What began as sandwiches and coffee for passing walkers grew, over the following months, into something more: fire-cooked feasts, supper clubs under the canvas, a countryside cookery tour, and a series of interior design mornings that had nothing to do with food at all and everything to do with the same idea. Gathering people, in one place, around something worth sharing.
Below is a record of the season, the events, the evenings, and the mornings that made it what it was.

Late Summer
Nights
August is about family and community — cooking outdoors, sharing food and staying longer than the midges as the summer slowly turns. Jack's late summer menu revealed closer to the date.
Menu to be revealed — expect fire, freshness and the very best of late summer North Cork produce.
“Thank you to the thousands of wonderful people who called in to see us this summer. It was, from the very first fire to the very last supper, exactly what we hoped it would be.”
